As a superintendent in three very different districts (Pentucket Regional, Littleton and Walpole) and thus a member of three very different collaboratives, I fully understand and appreciate what Frank Colvario brought to GLEC. During the summer of 2012 GLEC hired Frank Colvario and we saw first-hand through the fall and early winter his knowledge, skill and can-do attitude. Frank possesses both significant persistence and patience.
We have been reminded why so many in Massachusetts seek Frank Colvario to work with them. Frank Colvario is incredibly objective and professional, and thus he has my highest endorsement.

Since the 2003-2004 school year, Frank Colvario and CPI have worked on and completed several assignments for the Ashburnham-Westminster Regional School District (AWRSD). The projects were varied: an assessment of our in-house food service program, an audit of our middle school construction documents, an assessment of the strength and weaknesses of our business office as well as assisting in establishing an educational foundation. Each assignment led to implementing recommendations which enhanced the value of an education at AWRSD.
In 2012 I became a CPI associate and worked on four very different assignments: reviewing a district’s grants processing in a large city, assisting in developing a RFP for long term Food Service contract in a town, developing an improved chart of accounts and numbering system in a vocational school and assessing a district’s business office functions in another town.
As a former acting superintendent, business administrator and as a CPI associate, I know first hand that Frank takes many steps to ensure both accuracy and completeness of the research gathered as well as the final report recommendations. Other strengths of CPI and Frank are consistency and helpfulness, be it to clients or associates.

In the late winter and early spring of this year, Frank Colvario and his CPI associates assisted the Lynn Public Schools with a review of our grants. Since our annual grant revenues are approximately $25,000,000, this assignment was not only significant but also complex. Added to the challenges of this assignment were absences of Lynn Public School staff (absences due to surgeries and resulting recuperation).
The needed grant work proceeded as planned, was completed on time and provided, especially to the superintendent and me, the information that was needed. The necessary changes were in place so improvements could and did occur.

In the fall of 2012 I attended, over two days, three different CPI sessions that focused on applying for superintendent positions in Massachusetts. The three presenters demonstrated a strong functional knowledge and were exceptionally well informed about the requirements of superintendent searches, the development and implemention of Entry Plans and the all-important interview process for obtaining a superintendent position.
I was most impressed with the practical hands on experience of participating in the mock interviews and the follow up critique of these interviews. Through these workshops I have received an invaluable source of knowledge as I prepare to pursue current superintendent vacancies in Massachusetts. I also valued the professional relationships that were developed with other superintendent candidates attending these workshops. These workshops recognize the power of information as you prepare to face the challenge of making a positive difference in the educational communities you may serve.
