2018 and 2019 Assignments

1. In February and March of 2018, CPI’s work initially was intended to be on the general financial management of the Agawam Country Club. Soon after the assignment started, meetings and discussions took place with many staff. Both verbal and written reports were conducted with Mayor Sapelli. 

Although the Agawam Country Club (ACC) staff were found to be very collegial as detailed in the specific findings, the municipal management skills, be they verbal or written, needed dramatic changes leading to improvements. The financial results, not only in the past year but also in the last four of five years and five of the last seven, evolved into losses based on operations.
 

2. During this assignment with the Agawam Fire Department (AFD) operated two fire stations 24 hours a day with a minimum of eleven personnel staffng two engines, two ambulances, and a tower ladder. The department also cross manned a medium duty rescue, a third ambulance, and a rescue boat. 

Within the AFD, CPI focused on the staffing levels, comparable salaries, equipment and schedules of the daily and long-term staff. The review also included the EMS staffing and recent, at least the last two years, of incidents and responses. CPI provided periodic reports to the Fire Chief and Mayor as well as a draft report.

3. At the end of the 2018-2019 school year, CPI assisted Lynn with student activity accounts in five of their elementary schools. Commencing during the last week of school and continuing throughout July and ending before schools opened, CPI’s work was intensive as time, especially during summer vacations, was limited. 

4. During the spring of 2019, work with the Northeast Metropolitan Regional Vocational High School commenced. A handful of various assignment were started, and nearly all were completed by the end of the school year. The work was with various staff members under the combined supervision of the superientendent and business official.
 

5. Frank Colvario continued his advisory services (started in 2002) with the owner and staff of a statewide and regional insurance consultant and brokerage. These advisory services included advice and insights as the brokerage expanded and considered other operational changes.Content copyright
